Lazerscale 2010
Lazerscale is a collective project where artists submit 1 song for every day of the year.
I started late unfortunately- Sept 25 2010. The eventual decision to join came down to my inability to write anything "good enough" to release. To break that mode I can release garbage once a day.
Each song was composed the day of its release. What this means is sometimes the mixing/content may be lacking in quantity or quality. It's a exercise. Maybe after I run out of steam I'll extend & fix up the best of them.
The first set of songs I'm composing use a iOS application (iPhone, iPod, iPad) called Nanostudio. There is a free version for Windows and OSX so you can take a look at the original song source and play around with it if you like. Though all music is Creative Commons Attribution (give credit to trash80), Non-commercial, and No derivations unless otherwise specified in the file.
The source files and songs entries are below:

This is far from garbage! Keep it coming, I love it!
So glad to hear great new tunes from you!
Your high standards for what is "good enough" is why you are one of the best.
Jeff C is right - if this is what you call garbage I'll take it! It's been far too long for some fresh Trash80 tunes.
Great music. I love it!
Sorry im sick right now. there are 2 more songs on lazerscale2010 site
Yay, more tracks.
Oh, the other 2 tracks are pianotracks. Got to love pianoteq.
Hey Tim, are you going to remake them in 8bit fashion or keep the piano theme?
Agreed. Don't Ever Stop Writing!
Awesome concept, and I couldn't think of anyone I'd want more to participate.
Don't sweat the quality--it's clear your standards are miles above what most consider great. Just enjoy it, and we will too!
I totally agree with everyone else. This definitely ain't trash (har har har) by any stretch of the imagination!
Ditto, this ain't trash. Luckily I got here while I was roaming through your Darwinia stuff on youtube. I've noticed a afew other people have started using something similar to your Pain Fade Down computerised tone scales, whatever they're called. Can't get enough of that stuff. More, please.
I love your music. Never stop composing!
Once again awesome stuff. Forgive me, as this next question is in regards to another track. Where is "Excuses"? I wanted to compile all the tracks from the Darwinia soundtrack, but I don't see Excuses anywhere on here, and it's the only track I'm missing. Could someone help me with this?
Trash,
I can't even begin to think of how you say that your music is garbage. It's true, far from it. I love LOVE sitting at work or in my room or while I'm playing games and just mellowing out to your music. Sometimes it takes me back to the days where I was carefree and enjoying just playing stuff like Nintendo and the original Gameboy. This music is not garbage, nothing you do it. You have a fanbase who loves what you do and wants more and more.
You're amazing talent seems to bright days other than the ones I live so this means that your only possible course of action is of course: Keep doing what your doing and do it proudly. We love it and so should you.
Please please PLEASE keep it coming. I'd kill me if I stopped getting stuff from Trash80!
02 is so good. I could dance to it forever.
Im so happy for you that you haven't been unnoticed! Your talent is valuable and you should be recognized for it. I listen to your tracks all the time, theyre inspiring!
Definitely "fix up" these tracks and release an EP. They'd hardly need anything done to them.
Hahaha I love how he always says "meh, this is garbage", or "it sucks", and everyone loves it :)
But while these tunes are pretty cool, I have to agree with him, it's not as great as his other stuff, and EPs like Icarus or Hologram are a clear cut above that. Still, that's far from garbage.
Brilliant stuff, looking forward to more.
Insane work, keep it going mate :D
What are you using for the piano tunes? Is that an iPad app as well...?
I don't know how You do it.
Your Art is nostalgic, moving, intriguing and detailed.
I am shocked by quality and sensuality of Your work.
Thank You.
I followed a link to another 8bit ppl and his site reminded me of you, so here I am again and thankfully you've posted some awesome new tracks. I was trying to think of something witty or funny to post, but then I listened to the devil's puppet and it hit me.
Your music has brought me to tears over & over. I've listened to it over & over. I always thought it's because 8bit music was the soundtrack of my life and you are a master composer--both still true--but at least for me, it allows a glimpse into an alternate reality where I made different life decisions. I don't know if that makes sense, but it gives me such joy & perspective. Not that I dislike how my life turned out, but your music elicits a vision of another existence that is currently askew, but now that I see it, it can converge.
We love you, always will, and hope you're happy. That is all!
I totally understand what you feel. I listen Tim's music for long time. My life did not worked well (to this moment) , but the music still fits the pattern of my consciousness.
His music is like suspended time for me. Sometimes is painful and sometimes is full of light.
the more I listen this album... the more I like it :), keep it commint Ash!
I Love this music. Make more! It's great.
Man do you have the source files for the piano tracks?? they are amazing
