The Bedroom Studio
Oct 3, 2007 3:23am
Hello internot. Feeling a bit uninspired and overwhelmed I decided to move some of my gear out of the office area and back into my bedroom. I'm trying to write music again. For the 4000th time. Think I want to do something a bit dancy, maybe some kinda electrohousetechnochiptune[tm]
Ramble ramble. What's sitting around me mow:
- A NES with wayfar's midines and a few outputs direct from the chip. prosound mod for the nes if you will.
- Elektron Monomachine
- Monome
- Laptop and spare p.o.s. monitor
- Alesis Micron (for a MIDI controller)
- NI's Audio 8 DJ / Traktor FS
- Generic but nice Stanton SA-3 2 Ch Mixer
- Vestax VCI-100
The reason for so many controllers? I'm experimenting with a live setup. Had an idea earlier this year about putting together a dj set with live sequences and performance on top of typical hyperactive mixing.
Maybe I'll start posting some audio clips or videos soon. Sooooo out of practice of both electronic music and djing. Moo.

quit posting blogs and make me a song about nuclear bombs :) You know the arms race has started up again right?
Glad to hear you're back writing, I've been checking back here for a while in the hope of hearing you're back to making music. Here's to finding your muse ;)
Gift.
Yay back to writing music :D I wish I could write the kind of music you make, it's just so great to be able to relax, work, and lol play my NES to the same music. Trash80 in my mind is the best music to work to as it usually has no lyrics. Keep it up I'm looking forward to your next release. Oh and I found the site after playing the game Darwinia, and have shown a few of my friends your music and they all love it too.
Hope to hear some sounds from you soon :D
Sounds great :3
Good luck with the electrohousetechnochiptune[tm],
although I'd prefer hearing some more calm songs from you

Chip tunes make me hurl
Been a huge fan of almost everything I've found on this site. Looking forward to anything new you come up with ;)
Huzzah! Best of luck!
On a side note, your music sounds awesome pumped through a tube amp with some beyerdynamics.
@D: Way to be a jackass.
Glad to see you're back. I found your website a while after your Feb 2007 post, so I was worried you were dead or something. As the fellow above said, here's to finding your muse. :)
I think trance is your strong suit, but serve up a Deep House Dish if that's your fancy ;)
I also discovered your site after playing the game Darwinia. I love your stuff (except for "Your Funk is Fine", but hey, can't like everything). It's wonderful to relax and work to, as others have said. I really wish there were more people out there making good no-lyric music like you do.
Yay! \o/
Ive been waiting for some new material from Mr. Trash80.
I hope you find your inspiration again!
Make a new song and I'll paint you an album cover. benjaminart dot com
rad setup. i want a monome, but also don't want any production gear because i'm too lazy to learn hardware.
though i did just get traktorscratch and preordered this doodad: pacemaker dot net
oh, and i freaking love the sound of the monomachine. only piece of production hardware i'm actually considering buying. really amazing device there.
your chiptunes do awesome things to my manly bits! keep it up!
